BluePrints A playgroup program for children 2 to 5 years old with spina bifida and related disabilities + a support group for their parents
Children have many needs beyond the basics of food, clothing and shelter. While play time may seem trivial as compared to these basic necessities, it is, in fact, critical to a child’s social development.
BluePrints is a social skills play group program and parent support group for children ages two to five years with spina bifida and their parents. The program is offered mid-morning twice per week in two separate groups—one for children ages two to three years and one for children four to five years old. Each ninety minute session includes structured play time led by a therapist, as well as unstructured play time with peers. A portion at the conclusion of each session includes parents in activities with their children.
The BluePrints program is a service of the Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania. The program is held in the Northern Rehabilitation facilities of Children’s Hospital of UPMC in the Pine Tree Shoppes on Rt. 19 in Wexford. There is no charge to participate in the programs, but donations are appreciated. For more information, contact SBAWP at (724) 934-9600. |

Thank you to Boilermakers Local154, Steamfitters Local 449 and Ironworkers Local 3 for their generous support of SBAWP through their annual golf outing. This year's event was a huge success and its proceeds help support programming for SBAWP's summer camping program. |
